APPE- Associação Portuguesa de Parques Empresariais is the result of the collective effort of managers of business sites, private and public, across the country, and their willingness to collaborate in the qualification and promotion of territories, contributing to attract and root productive investment.

The APPE is the outcome of the Government’s strategy, defined by the Internacionalizar 2030 program”, said the Secretary of State for Internationalization, Eurico Brilhante Dias, on the creation of a national association of business parks.

The APPE launch took place on the 9th December 2021, at Casa da América Latina, in Lisbon. The ceremony was attended by the Secretary of State for internationalization, Eurico Brilhante Dias, the Executive President and Executive Vice President of aicep Global Parques, Filipe Costa and Isabel Caldeira Cardoso, and the President of Madeira Parques Empresariais, Gonçalo Pimenta.

The Board of APPE for the first triennium 2021-2023 officially took over on that day: Madeira Parques and Terinov – Science and Technology Park of Terceira were elected for the Board of the General Assembly, with Gonçalo Pimenta assuming the Presidency of the APPE Board, as Chairmen. The elected Board will focus on fundamental areas such as: efficient management of business parks, development policies, infrastructure, territory and efficient licensing of activities, aiming to overcome context costs”, said Isabel Caldeira Cardoso, President of the APPE Board.

APPE serves the national strategy to promote Portugal as a business host for national and foreign direct investment outlined by AICEP, through the provision of quality spaces and services, tailored to the needs of investors. The objective is to overcome context costs, to create a mechanism for a stronger agreement between licensing entities, to contribute to the efficient settlement of investments in dedicated and properly infrastructured areas.

APPE will be supported by the Portugal Site Selection platform, managed by aicep Global Parques, which will act as an aggregator, providing information on business sites and support to the procurement of business spaces, as well as settlement, and management of companies, and adequate qualification of all national territory for the installation of more investment projects.

APPE, which is now starting, promotes the association of all public and private national location areas, thus acting as a forum for sharing good practices in the sector.
